The Red Barn is a Family Restaurant in Augusta, Mainethat has become a place of legend over the last 30 years. They specialize in Fresh Seafood and Chicken Meals but that isn’t all they offer.  You can get grilled cheese sandwiches, burgers, chicken filet sandwiches,  fried mushrooms(one of my favorites), veggie plates, hot dogs, and more.

Crustacean Elation

If you are a Seafood Lover, Laura’s Seafood Stew is out of this world and it’s a mandatory must try! You will love it! They offer individual  seafood baskets with scallops, clams, haddock, and shrimp, or you can get the mixed seafood with a sampling of all of the above. Another famed offering is called “Crustacean Elation”, this is a huge Lobster roll with More that One Pound of Fresh Melt In Your Mouth Lobster served with fresh Homemade chips! If this is more than you bargained for you can still get a lobster roll with  1/4 lb. of fresh lobster meat. The chicken, like all of their food, is always fresh, hot, and juicy delicious! For Desert you can have Strawberry Shortcake or Homemade Whoopie Pies. They also have soft serve ice cream. It’s fun to watch people run to the counter in the summer when they will occasionally announce,  ”Ice Cream Cones for $1.00 for the next 5 minutes”! The Red Barn is a Family Restaurant and has a scrumptious and very reasonably priced kids menu and the kids meals even come with a drink. As I have followed the Red Barn on Facebook I have recently learned they are a very giving establishment, supporting a wide variety of local causes.
